Chemical Adhesion to Cement
The SEM picture of Cross Section of Fracture Surface of Cement
Bond strength between fiber and Cement matrix is another important consideration. Polypropylene Fibers and ARG have low bond strength with Cement matrix. When you put the Cement composite under load, it cracks and they tend to slip out without providing significant benefit. KURALON™, on the other hand, form a molecular bond with the Cement matrix during hydration, so you cannot easily pull them out.
